The last book that I finished was Brother Odd by Dean Koontz.
It was good. The whole Odd series has been a good read. My son and my brother are now hooked too.
I am reading another Dean Koontz book now, but I can't remember the name. I think it is The Face. I can only take it in small doses for some reason though.

I like most of Stephen Kings books. I did however only read half of Hearts in Atlantis. I skipped the characters' Viet Nam part because it just never connected to the first part of the book.

I just KNEW I liked you for some reason Grant!! I am a huge Koontz Fan! I liked certain books by Stephen King..but at times, he is alittle too repetetive, like in Desperation...I had to stop reading that one...drove me nuts. Bag of Bones, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Rose Madder are some of my favs. I LOVE Koontz more though. Especially the ODD series.
Unfortunately, I will be taking my book collection of both authors and selling them at the second hand bookstore, to help with current bills and groceries.
I'll get more though....I gotta read brother odd!

I can't say I've read a book from cover to cover since High School!
I've read alot of tech manuals, and magazines, but I just don't get into reading stories.

Nikki,
That is cool that you are a Koontz fan too, but sad that you have to sell your collection.
My main problem with most Stephen King books is that he goes into too much detail at times.
I also like to read books by Stephen Hunter, Tami Hoag, and Peter Straub.
I recently read Micheal Creichtin's State of Fear. That was a very good book too. Entertaining and somewhat factual.

Dave is like you JJ...he's just not a fiction person. He'd rather have a magazine of electronics or photography, or a tech manual..something "how to". I have difficulty getting into those things....but love reading fiction. I guess opposites attract! What kinds of magazines do you like JJ? And the tech manuals...what kind?

I feel the same way about Stephen King, Grant. In Desperation, he trudged on for some 50 pages, describing an eyeball that wasn't in place anymore. I couldn't take it. The language gets alittle much at times too. That's why I prefer Koontz....he's scarey in his own psychological way and his big words challenge me...I like that. I am also a big fan of Nicholas Sparks. They aren't thrillers like Koontz...but they have some pretty deep twists and turns in them!

Not that you have much time Glen...but what do you like?

I have spells reading books, the problem I have is if its a good book I can't put it down. So when I get my reading head on I usually read a book in a couple of days.

I enjoy fiction and historical books Nikki, the main thing is the book has to grab me early on if not I just stop.

This reminds me of a joke.
A man went into a library and asked the librarian if they had any books on suicide, yes they are on the rear shelf at the top.
So off he went , a few minutes later he returned and said there is only one. The librarian said I know they don't bring them back.

I'm currently reading a few Photoshop and premiere elements books and mags, but have read many C/C++ programing references. I read Maximum PC, CPU and an occasional Popular science as well.

I have a bad habit of buying books and not reading them!

When I was a teenager I loved reading science fiction. And Reader's Digest.
