Camera Preference
I am just curious what everyone prefers for camera types and brands.
I have an old Nikon FG SLR 35 mm that I use when I want really good pictures and can stand waiting for them to get developed, but to tell you the truth, I haven't used it on a regular basis in years. I bought my wife a Fuji F 20 digital for Christmas and unless I forget to bring a camera, that is what I like to use. It is compact and very durable. It takes pretty good pictures too. She uses it occasionally.

We have 2 Cannon EOS 650s which were film...but for valentine's day, I bought Dave a Cannon 10D digital....so that he could start doing more for his portfolio. Sharp Pics....lotsa options....I don't care much for the built in flash though....it likes to stick shut at times.

My first digital camera, which was provided by an employer, was a Fuji. I thought I got the bad end of the deal since my buddy down the hall was given a Sony digital. It turned out that the Fuji was a far better machine. At the time the only cameras that I knew of from Fuji were disposable film cameras, so I was suspect about this machine.
I did not give it enough credit. It took a nice 2 mega pix. shot with a bright flash built in. It had a fast refresh time, and was very mizerly with the batteries. I have seen some Fuji SLR look alikes, (but no removable lens) at the local radio shack over the past couple of years and they seemed to have the same type of features as the unit I liked. I would buy one if I had the cash.

I have a Kodak EasyShare DX4530 5 Megapixel Digital, don't care for their software but that's why I have a card reader to get the pics off of it. Pics are quite large in physical size when taken at full resolution so printing them on a full page of photo paper results in excellent quality shots.

Card readers fix all screwy digital camera hardware. That is probably my favorite feature on my new computer. (I know I've said it before somewhere)
I should probably install one on my old computer as I can't find the discs for the cameras we have.

I'm partial to Canon myself.
I own a Canon Rebel SLR, and 2 Canon Digital cammeras. Th DX4330 is mine, and my wife has the newer C330. I'd love to trade in my Rebel body for a digital replacement so I can use all my SLR lenses. Last edited by Jumpin_Jeff; 05-18-2007 at 01:02 PM. |

Last Canon I used was a P&S 35mm Camera....so I do not have any experience with Canon in digital.
First digital Camera was a Fuji A340...a okay P&S Digital....but VERY poor in low light conditions. The 2nd camera I got was a Panasonic FZ-20PP which is basically a "Pro-sumer" camera. No interchangeable lenses but it has a 12x Zoom (432mm) and has been a very good camera. "Okay" in low light conditions and was terrific at the race track getting the action. My next camera, and the one I have used the most, is a Nikon D70a. What a NICE camera. Fully equipped with the Nikon SB800 flash, this camera performs no matter the conditions. I have taken many shots at weddings I was DJing that rivaled what the hired photographer took. Actually I see many wedding photographers using this camera....although some have moved to the Nikon D80 for the larger pixels and viewfinder. My next camera....a Nikon D2Xs. If I can ever get the cash to get it that is as it rings in at $5500 cdn without lenses.
